Customer Spotlight
Customer Spotlight: Sementes Tradição – South America
Sementes Tradição has entered the final phase of one of its most ambitious expansion projects: a fully modernized seed processing line featuring a complete integration of Oliver Manufacturing and Westrup equipment. This strategic investment marks a major milestone for the cooperative, elevating both processing capacity and seed quality across multiple crop types.
A Vision for Growth & Excellence
Dedicated to increasing operational efficiency and delivering premium seed to their members and market, Sementes Tradição carefully selected each component of their new line. Their focus was clear:
High processing capacity
Superior sizing accuracy
Advanced automation
Ease of operation and reduced manual labor
Consistency in seed purity, germination, and vigor
This modernization equips the cooperative to process higher volumes while meeting the strictest standards of physical purity and seed performance—critical advantages in South America's competitive agricultural landscape.
Line Purpose & Flexibility
The new seed line was primarily designed for soybeans, with the capability to size the seed flow into three precise grades at capacities ranging from 20–25 tons per hour, depending on size distribution.
Additionally, the line offers full flexibility to process wheat, which requires only one size separation. Sementes Tradição successfully completed its first soybean season using this system and is now actively processing wheat, reporting excellent quality and high throughput.
Integrated Equipment Lineup
The high-performance system includes:
1× FP 1750 E7 Fine Cleaner
1× GP 1750 E91 Grader
5× 4-Core Profile Rotary Spirals
2× Maxi Cap 3600 Platinum Gravity Separators
1× Voyager GVX 1050
Together, this equipment delivers exceptional sizing accuracy, low-loss separation, and optimized flow—all with user-friendly operation and reduced labor requirements.
Results That Set a New Benchmark
When compared to an existing national seed processing line located directly beside it—larger in footprint and number of machines—the new Oliver & Westrup line is achieving 2 to 2.5× higher production output.
This leap in efficiency underscores the impact of pairing advanced technology with smart design and reinforces Sementes Tradição commitment to innovation and sustainability. The system also reduces resource use and environmental impact, aligning with global best practices.
A Future-Proof Operation
With this installation, Sementes Tradição is now better equipped than ever to serve its growers, deliver superior seed quality, and maintain a leadership position within the region. Their upgraded infrastructure provides the ability to meet shifting market demands and the performance to support long-term productivity and profitability for rural producers.
